asked the Home Secretary if, in the interests of national economy, he will consider the advisability of discontinuing the preparation of the April register of voters; and what the estimated saving to public funds would be?

The question of legislation for this is under consideration. The maximum annual saving to public funds by the proposal is estimated at £260,000.
