HC Deb 25 February 1926 vol 192 cc727-8W
Major TASKER

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether he will call for a Report from the responsible officer as to what, if any, precautions were taken to ensure Lord Kitchener's safety on his mission to Russia in June, 1916?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

The answer is in the negative. The Admiralty saw no reason to question the actions of the responsible Naval authorities either in regard to the selection of the route or the precautions taken; nor do they now. I think it desirable to add that this applies also to the efforts at rescue by sea and land after the disaster.
