HC Deb 23 February 1926 vol 192 cc327-8W
Colonel DAY

asked the Postmaster-General the number of business firms availing themselves of Post Office facilities for the private stamping of correspondence by means of prepayment machines; and what methods are being adopted to bring such facilities to the notice of large business houses?

Sir W. MITCHELL-THOMSON

About 280 machines are in use. They are not supplied by the Post Office, but by the several makers, under Post Office licence; and the makers adopt their own methods for bringing the facilities to the notice of business houses.
