asked the Minister of Labour how many persons are employed at present in carpet and rug factories; and what is the number of unemployed in this industry?

The estimated number of persons in Great Britain at 1st July insured under the Unemployment Insurance Acts and classified as belonging to the carpet industry (which includes the manufacture of rugs) was 26,220. At 25th January, 1926, 2,503 insured persons in this group were recorded as unemployed.
