HC Deb 15 February 1926 vol 191 c1559W
Colonel DAY

asked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the inflated staffs at the Admiralty, War Office and Air Ministry, he will take immediate action to ensure that the staffs at the headquarters of the service departments are no larger than is essential for the efficient carrying out of their duties?

The PRIME MINISTER

Every effort is being made, and will continue to be made, to secure whatever savings in the staff costs of these departments may be possible consistently with the effective discharge of their essential duties.
