HC Deb 15 February 1926 vol 191 c1554W
Mr. RAMSDEN

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he is aware that a Bill has been introduced into the legislature of Dominica to regulate the examination and exportation of fruit, and to prohibit the shipment of defective fruit; and whether, in view of the fact that such measures will assist the sale of Empire fruit in this country, he will recommend that they he adopted by the other Crown Colonies and Protectorates who have not already taken such steps?

Mr. AMERY

I have heard that a Bill on this subject has been introduced in Dominica, but I have not seen the text. I propose to await the recommendations of the Imperial Economic Committee, which is now investigating the question, before taking any such general action as is suggested.
