asked the Minister of Pensions how many applications were made for pension in respect of men suffering from tuberculosis in the 12 months ending 31st December, 1925, and how many pensions were granted; and if he will state the number of applications for treatment made by pensioners suffering from tuberculosis and in how many cases was treatment granted with allowances?

Claims to the number of 4,863 in respect of tuberculosis were considered during the period referred to, and in 1,314 of these cases the claim was admitted. The aggregate number of men who claimed for treatment on account of tuberculosis cannot be stated, but over 12,000 separate courses of treatment of one kind or another were given with allowances during the year.
