Mr. THOMASasked the Minister of Transport whether he is satisfied that the contractors engaged on the reconstruction of the Wootton Bassett section of the County of Wiltshire main road for which the Government's supplementary grant has been made are adequately complying with the conditions implied in the Fair Wages Clause; and, if not, whether he will cause inquiry to be made in the matter?
§ Colonel ASHLEYI am informed that, in the opinion of the County 2963W Council, the contractors employed by them on the Wootton Bassett section of the main road are duly complying with the conditions of the Fair Wages Clause.
