HC Deb 15 December 1926 vol 200 cc2942-3W
Lieut. - Commander KENWORTHY

asked the Home Secretary if he is aware of the defects in the register in certain constituencies whereby electors at Parliamentary and municipal by-elections find themselves deprived of their votes whether Regulations exist for making up the registers; and, if so, if he is satisfied that these are complied with?

Captain HACKING

I presume that the hon. and gallant Member is referring to the registers for constituencies in the Borough of Kingston-upon-Hull, concerning which he has addressed a letter to my right hon. Friend. I have made inquiry of the Registration Officer in regard to the allegations contained in the hon. and gallant Member's letter, and have received from him in reply a' statement which shows that adequate steps are taken for the proper preparation of the registers in accordance with the Regulations contained in the Statute.
