HC Deb 14 December 1926 vol 200 c2782W
Mr. T. THOMSON

asked the Minister of Health whether vaccination is compulsory in Uganda or can exemption be claimed in the case of children; and, if so, up to what age?

Mr. AMERY

I have been asked to take this question. Under the Uganda law vaccination is compulsory in the case of all natives over the age of six months. Exemption is allowed in the case of persons who

  1. (a) have previously had small-pox;
  2. (b) have been successfully vaccinated within the preceding five years;
  3. (c) are certified to be not in a fit and proper state to be successfully vaccinated;
  4. (d) are found to be insusceptible of successful vaccination.
