Mr. MACLEAN

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many applications for small holdings or enlargements of existing holdings have been received by the Board of Agriculture since its formation in the Islands of Skye, Lewis, Mull, and Rum, respectively; and how many have been granted?

The information desired is as follows:

I understand that the whole of the Island of Rum is in the occupation of the proprietor. The areas of arable land, rough grazings and deer forest land on the island are approximately 50 acres, 15,000 acres and 26,000 acres, respectively.
