§ Sir K. WOODNo subsidy is available, for this purpose, but I would draw the hon. Member's attention to Section 22 of the Housing, Town Planning, etc., Ad, 1919, and to Section 5 of the Housing, etc., Act, 1923, which authorise local authorities to advance money for the improvement of existing housing accommodation.
