ASKEasked the President of the Board of Trade what other countries have adopted the provisions of the Convention of Brussels (October, 1922); whether it is 546W proposed to defer the coming into operation of the Carriage of Goods by Sea Act, 1924, until other countries have adopted its provisions; and, if not, on what date it is proposed that the Act shall become operative?
Mr. WEBBSo far as I am aware, no other countries have yet adopted the provisions of the Convention on Bills of Lading. Arrangements are being made to bring the Carriage of Goods by Sea Act into operation on the 1st January, 1925.
