HC Deb 21 May 1924 vol 173 c2232W
Lieut.-Colonel WOODWARK

asked the Secretary of State, for the Colonies whether news of the recent riots in Georgetown, British Guiana, in April last, was censored and prevented from reaching this country, as no notice has appeared in the English newspapers, although it appeared in the public Press in British Guiana and India; and, if so, for what reason was this information suppressed?

Mr. THOMAS

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative, and, therefore, the second part does not arise.
