Pickford, No, 393,877, who was killed at the Bedford barracks on 6th October, 1922, by a corporal on guard; whether he is aware that the deceased soldier used to allow his father, who is a widower and has been out of work a long time, 5s. per week; and will he get an allowance made to the father?
§ Mr. WALSHThis case has been already most carefully considered, and an inquiry officer of the Ministry of Pensions has interviewed Mr. Pickford, Senior, on behalf of the Army Council. Mr. Pickford was unable to produce any evidence whatever in support of the suggestion that he had been in receipt of money from his late son, and, in the circumstances, I regret that I am not in a position to make him an allowance from public funds.
