HC Deb 04 March 1924 vol 170 c1212W
Mr. ALFRED T. DAVIES

asked the Minister of Transport whether the Ministry is considering the public inconvenience entailed during parts of the day on the underground railways and suburban railways in the Metropolitan area; whether any representations with a view to diminishing overcrowding have recently been made by the Ministry; and what action, if any, it is proposed to take?

Mr. GOSLING

My information is that, speaking generally, the railway companies are ready to take such steps as they can within the limits of their existing powers to alleviate avoidable inconveniences in their London railway services. If, however, the hon. Member has any specific case in mind in which he considers that they have failed to do this, I shall be happy to consider what action I could take, if he will furnish me with particulars.
