HC Deb 04 June 1924 vol 174 c1286W
Sir K. WOOD

asked the Secretary of State for War whether portions of the Woolwich Dockyard are about to be vacated by the Government; whether it is proposed to lease the same to private firms; and whether any offers have been received and any action taken in the matter?

Mr. WALSH

It has been decided to discontinue the use of Woolwich Dockyard as an ordnance store depot, and the question of its future disposal is under consideration in conjunction with the Admiralty. Offers from various sources have been received, but it has not been found possible to deal with them at the present stage.
