HC Deb 02 June 1924 vol 174 c910W
Sir K. WOOD

asked the Minister of Transport whether, in connection with the recent tramway dispute, the Bexley and Erith Urban District Councils were unable to agree to pay the extra wages conceded to the employés of other authorities and the men resumed work on their old conditions; and whether any additional payments are now being made by his Department. or if he is aware if any payment is being made by the councils concerned or any other body?

Mr. GOSLING

I believe that the first part of the hon. Member's question correctly represents the position. No contribution is being made by my Department towards the wages of the men employed on the two undertakings in question, and I have no information as to the suggestion in the last part of the question.
