HC Deb 30 July 1924 vol 176 c2084W
Mr. BAKER

asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that houses are being erected on the Speedwell housing estate by direct labour and that seven houses have been covered in whether instructions have been issuers by the local authority to take on no carpenters or other men to finish these houses until the building dispute has been settled and whether, seeing that many skilled men axe unemployed in Bristol, he will represent to the local authorities the desirability of pressing on with the completion of the houses in question?

Mr. WHEATLEY

I am not aware of the facts referred to by the hon. Member, but I am making inquiry in the matter. I hope that the present unfortunate dispute in the building trade will speedily be settled.
