§ Mr. WHEATLEYI have already undertaken to consider, in consultation with the industrial committees I propose to set up, the possibility of obtaining a monthly return of apprentices. I cannot undertake, however, to furnish this information or particulars of the men employed on housing schemes during the Recess. The present returns from local authorities do not provide for this information, and it is impracticable to obtain particulars of the number of men employed by private enterprise on housing work.
