HC Deb 30 July 1924 vol 176 c2084W
Sir K. WOOD

asked the Minister of Health if he will, during the Parliamentary recess, publish each month a return of the men, skilled and unskilled in the various sections of the building trade, including the number of new apprentices to builders engaged each month in work in connection with the State-aided housing schemes?

Mr. WHEATLEY

I have already undertaken to consider, in consultation with the industrial committees I propose to set up, the possibility of obtaining a monthly return of apprentices. I cannot undertake, however, to furnish this information or particulars of the men employed on housing schemes during the Recess. The present returns from local authorities do not provide for this information, and it is impracticable to obtain particulars of the number of men employed by private enterprise on housing work.
