asked the Minister of Labour what were the total numbers of unemployed adult workers on 1st July, 1923, and 1924, respectively?

Mr. SHAW

The number of adult workers on the registers of Employment Exchanges in Great Britain at 30th June, 1924, was 952,650 as compared with 1,156,417 at 2nd July, 1923.

Mr. BARNES

asked the Minister of Labour whether he will submit a Return to the House giving the number of working days lost through unemployment during the years 1910, 1911, 1912, 1913, 1920, 1921, 1922, and 1923, and the first six months of 1924?

Mr. SHAW

I regret that the information available in my Department does not enable a return of this nature to be compiled with sufficient accuracy to be of value.
