HC Deb 22 July 1924 vol 176 c1144W
Lieut. - Commander KENWORTHY

asked the Minister of Transport if he is aware of the serious complaints made by fishing trawler companies in Hull with regard to the lack of adequate transport facilities and the high cost of transport for the conveyance of fish; that on 16th July 10,000 stones of fish had to be sent to the fish-meal factories, and on the 17th 8,500 stones from one firm alone, because the merchants dared not buy for the inland towns owing to uncertain transport and high costs; and whether he will make representations to the railway companies concerned?

Mr. GOSLING

I am informed by the London and North Eastern Railway Company that no fish traffic was refused by them at Hull on the 16th or 17th July.
