HC Deb 22 July 1924 vol 176 c1131W
Sir K. WOOD

asked the Minister of Labour whether he proposes to open a sub-office at Eltham in order that further facilities may be provided for unemployed persons in the district; and what arrangements, if any, have been made?

Mr. SHAW

I have given further careful consideration to this matter since the hon. Member's question on the 4th June. For the reasons which I have already communicated to him I consider that the present facilities for residents in the Eltham area are reasonably adequate, and that the expense of re-opening an office at Eltham could not be justified.
