HC Deb 21 July 1924 vol 176 c899W
Mr. TURNER

asked the Prime Minister if, in view of the statement of the Lord Chancellor that the drink question is a question too urgent to be left alone, the Government is prepared to take action regarding the same; and, if so, whether by legislation or by inquiry?

The PRIME MINISTER

At this stage of the Parliamentary Session, when the pressure of business is so great, it is not possible for the Government to take action regarding this question; but when the House meets in the Autumn, they will consider the whole matter, and a definite statement will be made.
