HC Deb 14 July 1924 vol 176 cc59-60W
Sir AYLMER HUNTER - WESTON

asked the Secretary for Scotland whether he is aware that landowners are experiencing considerable delay in the inspection of their afforestation schemes by the officers of the Forestry Commission; whether this delay is caused by the large reduction of staff; and what remedy is being taken to expedite matters?

Mr. ACLAND

I have been asked to reply. No complaints have been received by the Commission on recount of delay in inspections of grant schemes in Scotland, but inspections have been retarded because the reduced staff of the Commission is inadequate to overtake the duties assigned to it.
