§ Mr. W. HENDERSONasked the Minister of Health whether, in view of the urgent representations he has made to the Enfield Urban District Council requesting them to appoint a whole-time and experienced medical officer of health holding a diploma in public health, State medicine, or sanitary science, he is aware that the council have in fact appointed a part-time medical officer of health for the district who has had no previous experience of public health administration and who does not hold a diploma in sanitary science, public health, or State medicine; and, seeing that Enfield with a population of over 60,000 inhabitants is the only urban district in England with a population of over 45,000 that has not a full-time medical officer of health qualified according to the provisions of the Sanitary Officers Order of 1922, what steps does he propose to take to give effect to the statutory requirements governing the appointment and qualifications of whole-time medical officers of health?
