§ Mr. TREVELYANThe Board's records do not enable me to supply the figures asked for in the question, but I have no hesitation in saying that school journeys and school camps were encouraged by the Code in Article 44 before the War, and that the information obtained by the Board from His Majesty's inspectors about them was 1999W generally favourable. Under recent financial conditions expenditure by local education authorities for suuh purposes was limited by the Board, but I understand that a good deal has been done (e.g., for London schools) from other funds, and the Board are now prepared to consider proposals upon their merits.
