HC Deb 12 February 1924 vol 169 cc747-8W
Dr. CHAPPLE

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether any steps have been taken to fulfil the promise that his Department would, in consultation with the Scottish Board, frame a Bill for Scotland on the lines of the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries Act?

Mr. BUXTON

I think that some misapprehension has arisen on this subject. Any questions relating to amendment or consolidation of the law relating to salmon or freshwater fisheries in Scotland fall to be dealt with, not by my Department, but by my right hon. Friend the Secretary for Scotland and the Fishery Board for Scotland. I would refer to the reply which was given by the Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Health for Scotland to the hon. Member's question on the 26th June, 1923.
