HC Deb 02 May 1923 vol 163 cc1414-5W
Mr. PENNY

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Transport whether he is aware of the dangerous turnings in towns and country districts, through which a large amount of motor traffic passes, owing to garden walls and other obstructions obscuring the view of motorists; and whether, with the object of stimulating local authorities to remove the worst of these obstructions, he will consider the desirability of defraying part of the cost out of the Road Fund, or from some other national source?

Colonel ASHLEY

I am aware of the existence of dangerous turnings such as my hon. Friend describes. Numerous grants have been made from the Road Fund for their improvement, and I am always prepared to give careful consideration to any proposal submitted by local authorities to that end.
