HC Deb 02 May 1923 vol 163 c1414W
Mr. WILLEY

asked the President of the Board of Trade the number of complaints he has received from the Leeds area of delays in business transactions with firms in the Ruhr, and the number of cases in which the inconvenience has been remedied?

Lieut.-Colonel BUCKLEY

Approximately, 700 complaints have been received in the Board of Trade of delays in business transactions with firms in the occupied territory of Germany. To ascertain the number received from the Leeds area would involve considerable labour, and in view of the pressure in the Department. I should hesitate to give instructions for the desired information to be extracted. The number of cases in which the inconvenience has been remedied is so far small, but there is some ground for expecting considerable improvement shortly in this respect.
