HC Deb 26 April 1923 vol 163 c687W
Lieut.-Colonel FREMANTLE

asked the Postmaster-General if he is aware that county education committees are receiving applications from handicraft centres connected with elementary and secondary schools for permission to construct and erect the necessary wireless apparatus for listening-in, such work to be carried out by the boys attending the centres as part of their instruction; and if, having regard to the educational value of such work, he is prepared to grant licences for such installations under favourable conditions?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

Applications for the use of wireless apparatus in schools of all kinds for educational purposes are favourably considered; but I am unable to grant licences in such cases on more favourable conditions than those applicable to other licensees.
