HC Deb 26 April 1923 vol 163 cc686-7W
Mr. MIDDLETON

asked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that the assistant dispenser at the General Post Office has been performing the duties of the dispenser for a lengthy period without extra remuneration; and whether he will consider the matter with a view to granting a special allowance for the extra responsibility?

Sir W. JOYNSON - HICKS

The assistant dispenser has been performing the duties of the chief dispenser since the 8th of January. His pay is equal to the minimum of the chief dispenser's scale, and in the circumstances no increase is possible under the standing rules of the Service.
