HC Deb 26 April 1923 vol 163 cc693-4W
Mr. SHORT

asked the Minister of Agriculture what proportion of the ex-service temporary civil servants employed in his Department on clerical duties are home service and overseas, respectively; and how many are men who did not sit for the recent special establishment examinations?

Sir R. SANDERS

Apart from 17 temporary civil servants who qualified at the recent special establishment examinations and are awaiting establishment, there are 117 temporary civil servants employed. Of these 15, or nearly 13 per cent., are home service, and 102, or over 87 per cent., are overseas. Fourteen are men who did not sit for the examinations. Of these, three are home service and 11 are overseas.
