HC Deb 17 April 1923 vol 162 c1903W
Mr. SHINWELL

asked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware that Miss Lamb, of Broxburn, was refused unemployment benefit, on the ground that she declined to accept domestic service in Edinburgh; that the young lady has been employed as a shop assistant for some years, and therefore was not competent to undertake the work offered; and whether, in view of the circumstances, payment will now be made?

Mr. BETTERTON

I am making inquiries locally, and will communicate the result to the hon. Member.
