§ Mr. J. A. PARKINSONasked the Minister of Pensions if he will consider the case of the widow of the late Private Heaton, No. 44,034, Durham Light Infantry, whose son has won a scholarship to the Hindley and Abram Grammar School, where he is now attending, but which imposes great hardship upon the mother to provide his maintenance; and whether, in view of these facts, he will authorise a grant to be made so that the 1314W boy could take full advantage of the opportunity he has secured by winning the scholarship in open competition?
§ Major TRYONThe application for an education grant in this case has received careful consideration, but I regret that the facts do not justify an award under the regulations of the Special Grants Committee.
