Mr. ALFRED T. DAVIESasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether his attention has been called to the recent visit of a Paris dressmaker to London to display new dresses, valued at 250,000 francs; whether, seeing that such 75W visits result in large orders across the Channel, he will say what charges, if any, are made by the Board of Inland Revenue?
Mr. YOUNGI cannot of course disclose particulars of the tax liability of individual taxpayers, but if any tax be legally due in this case, the hon. Member may rest assured that the Board of Inland Revenue will take the appropriate steps to secure payment.
