§ Earl WINTERTONAs was intimated by the late Secretary of State, in reply to a similar question on 21st February, it is only possible to give the number of applications which, up to date, have reached the India Office. Further applications are doubtless in the hands of the local Governments to whom they have to be submitted in the first instance. The numbers received so far at the India Office are:
