Mr. MALONEasked the President of the Board of Education how many elementary class teachers in Leyton have more than 50 on the roll of their classes; what percentage this is of the total number in Leyton; and what steps are being taken to reduce those numbers which exceed 50?
§ Mr. FISHERThe number of classes in public elementary schools in Leyton with 50 or more pupils on the register on the 31st March, 1920, was 136, or 27.5 per cent, of the total number of classes in those schools. No occasion for action of the kind suggested in the last part of the question appears to have arisen.
