§ Mr. KELLAWAYThe number of sorter tracers at present employed is 132, of whom 32 are performing clerical duties. The total annual payment is at present at the rate of £37,769, but will be considerably reduced when the cost of living bonus drops on the 1st September. The minimum rate of payment is 49s. per week and the maximum 110s. per week, inclusive of bonus, both amounts being subject to reduction on the let September. Sorter tracers are not employed in detecting mistakes in charging, but in handling telegram forms for the purpose of audit and account.
