Major BROWNasked the Secretary of State for War how many officers have already been compulsorily retired, and how many further retirements are required?
§ Sir L. WORTHINGTON - EVANSApproximately, 630 officers have been, or are at present being, compulsorily retired under Army Order 179 of 1922. Exclusive of these, there is a surplus over the prospective establishment of approximately 600 Regular officers, and this is the number of reductions which have still to be effected.
