§ Mr. G. W. H. JONESasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether any steps have yet been taken for the settlement of claims against Germany by British nationals resident in Germany at the outbreak of War; whether he is aware that a number of these claimants are in financial straits and suffering from ill-health owing to the action of the then German Government; and whether anything can be done to help these claimants?
Mr. YOUNGI would refer the hon. Member to the statement which I made in presenting the Supplementary Estimate of £100,000 for grants for compensation for damage by enemy action on the 23rd instant.
