HC Deb 04 December 1922 vol 159 c1225W
Lord E. PERCY

asked the Minister of Labour, as representing the Ministry of Health, whether he will cause to be prepared a statement based upon Parliamentary Paper Cmd. 1155, 1921, showing the total amount of the grants, including moneys passing through the local taxation account and duties not passing through that account, as well as all other grants from the Imperial Exchequer, received in 1920–21 in aid of local rates in typical boroughs and other urban districts, and in typical rural parishes, and also, in each case, the total amount of relief to the rates per pound of assessable value involved in these grants?

Major BOYD-CARPENTER

My right hon. Friend will have a statement prepared, in a form which he understands will be acceptable to the Noble Lord, showing in respect of the year 1920–21 for certain typical urban and rural areas the total amount per pound of assessable value. (1) of the local rates, and (2) of the grants distributed by Government Departments (including grants distributed out of the local Exchequer Contribution Accounts).
