HC Deb 04 December 1922 vol 159 cc1244-5W
Mr. A. T. DAVIES

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether his attention has been directed to the case of Colonel John Sherwood Kelley, V.C., D.S O., who was summoned for non-payment of a gas bill at Windsor, on 25th November; and, in view of the fact that this officer is now in reduced circumstances and unable to pay the amount due, will he, in consideration of his services to the country, consider his case with a view to ameliorating his present position?

Lieut.-Colonel JACKSON

I regret that no funds are at my disposal for ameliorating the position of this officer. I understand, further, that his case has received most careful consideration at the hands of the Ministry of Pensions and that he is already in receipt, from that Department, of the maximum which they are entitled to allow him.
