Major BARNESasked the Minister of Health what is the total amount of payments made in respect of unemployment as apart from ordinary Poor Law reliefs by the Poor Law unions of England and Wales during the six months ending 31st March, 1922; if he has any estimate of the amount likely to be required for the same purpose for the six months ending 30th December, 1922; in how many unions such expenditure is more than 20 per cent. of their whole expenditure; and what is the total amount expended in such unions in relief necessitated by unemployment?
