Sir J. D. REESasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what will be the cost of the site offered by the Government to the University of London; and whether it is necessary, in the present state of the finances of the country, to proceed further with the proposed new buildings for that university?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINThe purchase price is £425,000. As I stated in my reply to the hon. Member on the 21st February, the proposed new buildings for London University will not be a charge on the Exchequer.
