HC Deb 21 June 1921 vol 143 cc1111-2W
Mr. KENYON

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs the date and the purport of the last official communication received from the Chinese Government on the subject of the renewal of the Anglo-Japanese Alliance; and what reply was sent to the Chinese Government memorandum of 1920 analysing the three successive alliance documents?

Mr. HARMSWORTH

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply returned to the hon. Member for Pontefract (Mr. Forrest) on the 13th instant, to which there is little that can usefully be added at the present stage. The hon. Member may rest assured that the representations and views of the Chinese Government, as of the various Governments and parties concerned, will receive all due consideration.
