HC Deb 02 June 1921 vol 142 c1266W
Mr. J. DAVISON

asked the President of the Board of Education whether, although the elementary education provisional code, 1919, stated that further alterations of that code were deferred in view of the fact that local educational authorities would be fully occupied in the preparation of schemes and the organisations of their resources to give effect to the Education Act of 1918, he will say whether, in view of the operation of circulars 1185 and 1190 issued by the Board, there is need for the proposed alterations of the code to be any longer deferred?

Mr. FISHER

I do not think that the issue of a completely revised edition of the Code of Regulations for Public Elementary Schools would be opportune at the present juncture, even if it had been found possible to complete the revision. I hope, however, to re-issue the Provisional Code in the near future, incorporating certain necessary alterations.
