HC Deb 21 February 1921 vol 138 c598W
Mr. W. GRAHAM

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, with reference to Section 3 of the Pensions (Increased) Act, 1920, the Treasury are yet in a position to issue an Order to education authorities authorising the application of this Act to their pensioners other than teachers, in view of the fact that Scottish education authorities and others have urgent requests from their pensioners for reconsideration of their cases under the terms of the Act?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

The only application received from education authorities is that from the Edinburgh Authority, who have now been informed that, in view of Section 1 (2) (b) of the Pensions (Increase) Act, 1920, they have power to apply the provisions of the Act to their pensioners independently of a formal order under Section 3.
