HC Deb 21 April 1921 vol 140 c2089W
Mr. CECIL

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he would be prepared to grant an annual return or a return for the last financial year in the same form as House of Commons Paper, No. 93, of Session 1909, entitled National Income and Outgo, the purpose of which is to show the full cost of each Government Department separately?

Lieut.-Commander YOUNG

I would refer my right hon. Friend to the answer given by me to the hon. Member for Oxford (Mr. Marriott) on the 22nd March. The answer was that the preparation of this return would involve considerable expenditure of time and labour, and that I was not convinced that the return was of sufficient public utility to justify the outlay.
