HC Deb 18 April 1921 vol 140 c1546W
Mr. LYLE-SAMUEL

asked the President of the Board of Trade the amount of coal exported by the United States to Europe in the first three months of this year and the average price per ton?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

The quantity of bituminous coal exported by the United States of America to Europe during January and February of this year amounted to 815,503 tons. The quantity of anthracite exported to Europe during the same period was 1,170 tons. During January the average declared value of the bituminous coal exported to Europe, so far as particulars have been reported, was 8.81 dollars per torn (or 44s. 10d. at current rate of exchange). I have no information regarding the value of the anthracite. I regret to add that no later particulars are available at present.
